to interpret sky conditions: Towering anvil shaped clouds are forerunners to thunderstorms, squalls and possibly waterspouts.
Low flat clouds with wispy trails reveal impending rain showers.
A low, white sharply defined bank of cloud that blocks the horizon may be a squall from which high winds and heavy rain result.
"Mares Tails'' or upper level cirrus clouds indicate possible high winds in the near future.
