Saltus to stage annual Mini Fair
Activities Mini Fair later this week.
The event will take place in the Junior School Hall on Friday, February 19 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The fair will allow clubs and schools to promote their after school and summer activities free of charge and allows parents the opportunity to check out the various activities for their children and sign up for a programme `then and there'.
Any one group or organisation interested in setting up a table at the event should call 295-0008 (days) or 295-4148 (evenings) by 11 a.m. Friday.
*** Next month, an entire week will be devoted to sonnets, rhymes and verses.
The Cabinet has approved the week of March 22 to 27 to be designated as Poetry Week in Bermuda.
To mark the week, a series of events are being planned in a bid to spread the love of words among Bermudians.
A Night of Poetry and Song is being scheduled for March 26 at a venue to be announced later and a Poetry Contest is also in the works.
*** The Second Annual Walk-A-Thon in aid of the Windreach Petting Zoo and Riding for the Disabled will take place next weekend.
Locals are urged to take part in either the 3.5 or 8 mile walk which starts and finishes at Windreach on Spice Hill Road in Warwick on Saturday, February 27 at 10 a.m.
For the mobility impaired, there will be a course set around Windreach Village.

*** Parents should keep in mind that there are only two more registration dates for The Youth Athletic Organisation's Little League Baseball.
Registration for the 1999 baseball season will take place on Saturday, February 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturday, February 27 from 9 to 1 p.m. at the Kindley Community Playing Fields in St. David's.
The registration fee for T-ball is $30 and $35 for the Rookie League, Little League and Seniors.

*** The Bermuda National Gallery's popular Lunchtime Series will this week focus on their current exhibit Meet the Collector.
The Governor's wife Jennifer Masefield and Tanya Bascome Osewe will share with the public their vast knowledge on African Art. The 12.30 to 1.30 p.m. lecture is free for Bermuda National Gallery members and is $5 for the general public.
