Slideshow relives journey through `Annapurna Circuit'
Bermuda based author, Andrew Stevenson, whose book Annapurna Circuit is now in its third printing, will be giving a slide show on behalf of the Friends of the Bermuda College Library tomorrow evening.
The show, entitled The Annapurna Circuit: A Himalayan Journey , features slides of the breathtaking Nepal and the Himalayas, where his book is set.
The slide show is set for 7 p.m. in the New Hall Lecture Theatre at the Bermuda College Stonington Campus. Admission is $5, or $2 for FOCL members and College students. All proceeds are to support the College Library.
Fans of Mr. Stevenson will be pleased to know that his latest book Kiwi Tracks has just been accepted for publication.
For those who love playing in the sand The Institute of Bermuda Architects will hold their 3rd Annual Sandcastle Competition on Saturday, September 26.
The event will take place at Horseshoe Beach in Warwick from 12 to 4 p.m.
The fun-filled afternoon will feature an under twelve, teen (13 to 19), family and adult/company categories. Visitors will even be able to get into the act since the Institute will have a special division for them.
Those interested in entering the competition can pick up and drop off an entry form to Nicky Gurret at the Planning Department in the Government Administration Building on Parliament Street in Hamilton. The entry fee is $20 per 8'x8' lot.
*** The Midland Drama Association hosts a Community Fun Day at Ordnance Island this Saturday. There will be train rides, Majorettes, Gombeys, food and games, dance acts, drama skits, bands and comedians to entertain all.
For those who prefer more physically exerting activity there is the Dunkley's & Noah's Ark 5K Fun-Run. Those who wish to participate in the run can pick up an application from Noah's Ark, Dunkleys Dairy and Unlimited Supplies.
