Soprano Paula Mann, a native New Yorker, is currently Minister of Music at Salem United Methodist church, one of the largest churches in Harlem.

A graduate of the Mannes College of Music and the famed Julliard School, Ms Mann pursued her operatic development at the American Opera Centre at Lincoln Centre in New York, and the American Institute in Graz, Austria.

She was chosen to participate in the master classes of Tito Gobbi, Luciano Pavarotti and James Levine, and is a winner of the Verdi competition in Bussetto, Italy, and a vocal competition in Vercelli, Italy.

Ms Mann completed her operatic studies at the Teatro La Scala in Milan, Italy, and she sang at the opening of the opera houses in Graz, Austria, and the State Theatre in Lucerne, Switzerland.

She has sung many leading operatic roles both in Europe and the United States, and won critical acclaim for the role of Santuzza in Opera Ebony's production of Cavalleria Rusticana at the Philadelphia Academy of Music. Ms Mann regularly gives concerts and recitals, and the pieces she has chosen for her Bermuda debut will range from operatic excerpts to spirituals.

Tenor Clinton Ingram earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Fisk University and his Master of Music degree at Yale School of Music. He has appeared with such famed opera companies as The Metropolitan, New York City Opera, Tulsa, Calgary, Pittsburgh Civic, Teatro Real and the Bregenz Festspiele.

His operatic repertoire includes leading roles in Carmen, Aida, Lucia di Lammermoor, Herodiade and Porgy and Bess. In fact, Mr. Ingram made his opera debut as Mingo in Porgy and Bess, and he has also featured in principal roles in two operatic world premieres: Angel Levine, and X (The life and times of Malcolm X).

As a recording artist, Mr. Ingram sang the role of Don Arias in the Masssenet opera, Le Cid, with Placido Domingo and Grace Bumbry for Colombia Records. For the Gasparl label he recorded Elie Siegmeister's City Songs.

The tenor has travelled extensively to perform, and is a member of the Naomi Music Ensemble. He has also toured as tenor soloist with The Spiritual Singers of Harlem.

Like his fellow soloist, Mr. Ingram's presentation will include operatic excerpts -- including the famous Nessun Dorma from Turandot -- and spirituals.

In addition to solo pieces, the singers will perform as a duet, and among the items they will present are Hummel's Halleluja, the Love Duet from Act I of Madame Butterfly, Sylvia Olden Lee's arrangement of Scandalise My Name, and Blessed Assurance.

The recital will begin at 8 p.m. sharp, and patrons are asked to be seated not later than 7.50 p.m. Tickets ($20) will be sold at the door.
