Students in concert spotlight
during a concert this weekend.
The Menuhin Foundation Student Concert will take place at the Anglican Cathedral at 3 p.m. on January 31.
Under the direction of six Menuhin Foundation teachers, the performers will play a few pieces each with every pupil taking part in the grand finale of the William Tell Overture.
The show will feature orchestras and groups from the Bermuda High School, Saltus, Mount Saint Agnes, Warwick Academy Primary, East End Primary, Francis Patton, Gilbert Institute, Harrington Sound, Heron Bay, Paget Primary, Port Royal, Somerset Primary, Southampton Glebe, St. George's Preparatory, Victor Scott, West End, West Pembroke, as well as the Menuhin Foundation Junior and Youth Orchestras.
Cultural Affairs Officer Heather Wilson will provide commentary during the event.
Tickets are available from Menuhin Foundation teachers, the Harbour Master (Washington Mall), or teacher-in-charge Alison Johnstone on 295-2510.
The costs are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
Early ticket purchase is advised as last year all were sold out. No tickets will be on sale at the door.
