Students pass accountancy exams
Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. And six students automatically qualified immediately as CAs.
The remainder must complete their required 30 months of practical experience within a public practice firm.
They all were congratulated by Minister of Development, Opportunity & Government Services, Terry E. Lister, the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mr. Lister commented on the breadth of opportunities open to professional accountants in the Island.
He said that with more than 600 CAs employed in public practice, local and international business, government and education, young people with the highly regarded qualification, energy and enthusiasm are in an enviable position. The students were honoured with a luncheon last week at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club on Friday and will attend a convocation dinner next March.
