The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard will be holding a few public workshop.

Artists will be working from a model with the emphasis being the upper torso, head, neck, shoulders and bust. Combining anatomy and musculature knowledge to create portraits in colour, black and white.

Artists will be working from a model with the emphasis being the upper torso, head, neck, shoulders and bust. Combining anatomy and musculature knowledge to create portraits in colour, black and white.

The cost is $15 per session and they will be held at the Bermuda National Gallery, rear entrance, from 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

Every Thursday through May there will be Plein Aire Painting with Amy Evans.

Enjoy painting out on location under the guiding hand of Ms Evans. Using your preferred medium; watercolour, acrylic or oil, you will be working at different venues around the Island every week for varied subject matter.

The cost is $80 for four weeks from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. You will be advised of the first meeting place when you sign up.

*** The Maritime Museum will be holding an open day on Sunday May 18 for all members.

There will be a special admission price for non-members of $5 for adults, and $2 for children will apply.

Take time to revisit the exhibits or view the new display inside the Commissioner's House.

The schedule of events is as follows: 11.30 a.m. -- The first re-enactment of the Attack on Washington. Go to the tunnel entrance and you will be recruited as one of the troops.

12.45 p.m. -- The Children's Museum Society will launch its new interactive exhibit by welcoming families to discover aspects of our maritime heritage in a "please touch'' environment.

1.15 p.m. -- The Antique Boat Engine exhibit will be opened in the entrance to the Boat Loft.

2 p.m. -- Rampart Exhibit, this new exhibit will be officially opened.

3 p.m. -- Enjoy the spectacle of the Bermuda Sea Cadets President's Parade.

Ninety cadets and 20 officers, in full uniform, will be inspected by their president, Capt. Gilbert Hallam, RN.
