`Toogood' views
(pictured at right) has returned to Bermuda for a one-man show at the Windjammer Gallery.
About 20 paintings, all with Bermuda themes will be on show. "Besides painting all kinds of scenes -- city and townscapes, seascapes and landscapes, I have also taken the opportunity, this time around, to paint Bermuda at different times of day -- so there are also a couple of moonscapes,'' he says.
"This has been a fortunate 18 months for me as I've just had a show in New York and for the Texas Watercolour Society in San Antonio -- I won an award there.'' Mr. Toogood, who has been visiting and painting here since 1982, was given his first show by the Masterworks Foundation.
Educated at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, he is a member of the American Watercolour Society and his work has been exhibited at the National Academy of Design, and the Butler Institute of American Art. He has received awards from the American Watercolour Society and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
James Toogood's show at the Windjammer opens to the public on Friday June 12 and runs through June 30. There will be an evening reception this Thursday from 5.30 to 8.30 p.m.
