US couple finally gets to visit Island
honeymooning in Bermuda when they tied the knot 50 years ago. But with the Second World War just coming to an end, it was out of the question.
But their dream came true this week. The Clearys came to Bermuda to celebrate their 50 anniversary.
And while the couple's anniversary is not until April 7, yesterday they told The Royal Gazette they were loving every minute of their visit.
"We were in time for the cold weather, but Bermuda is worth it,'' Mr. Cleary said from the sitting room at Rosemont guest house where the couple were staying.
"I was very impressed with Bermuda and its narrow roads,'' Mr. Cleary said.
"We have been travelling around by bus and they are always on time, you can't find that in many places in the world.'' The Clearys left Bermuda yesterday.
A DREAM COME TRUE - After 50 years of marriage and dreams of a honeymoon in Bermuda that never happened, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cleary enjoyed a week of holiday in Bermuda to celebrate their upcoming anniversary.
