Warwick group meets tonight
of public meetings tonight designed to tackle issues facing Warwick residents.
Group chairman Mr. Bruce Sharpe said the purpose of the meeting is "to get input from Warwick residents on issues facing the parish and to discuss possible solutions.
"We are hoping for a good turnout, particularly from Warwick residents, he said. "We believe strongly that it is only through community action that so many of the issues facing the community and the country can be addressed successfully.
"We have had meetings with community leaders who have pledged their support for WARCAG. We've also been in discussion with Police and Neighbourhood Watch groups. All have been extremely cooperative and we hope that, in particular, Warwick residents share our concerns.'' Short presentations will be given by Mr. Bryant Richards of Addiction Services, Chief Inspector Dennis Ramsey of the western division of the Police Service, Dr. Yvette Swan, president of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women and Mrs. Marian Askia, president of the Bermuda National Parent Teachers Association.
WARCAG was formed at the end of last year following a public meeting at Warwick Nursery School. The group has no political affiliation and has only the community interests at heart.
Tonight's meeting begins at 7.30 p.m. and will be held at St. Mary's Church Hall off Middle Road in Warwick.
