The International Bottled Water Association gave the company two "Aqua awards'' for its television and radio advertisements at its annual trade show in October.

Pure Water beat out 170 companies in the small non-carbonated bottlers category, said company president Mr. Allan Marshall.

"Pure Water Bermuda received Aqua awards in their radio and television spots which expressed their mission of quality of life through the quality of water,'' according to a release from the association.

"The television work was done by VSB while Mr. Jeffrey Marshall and Mr. Roddy Marshall (brothers of Mr. Allan Marshall) put together the "Its Pure Water Time'' jingle in country and reggae versions,'' noted the company president.

The awards were presented at the 36th annual 1994 IBWA trade show in October in Long Beach, Calif.

At the convention, attended by about 800 delegates, the IBWA, founded in 1958, presented 56 companies and suppliers to the industry with the association's Aqua award.

Pure Water was started with four employees in September, 1992 by Mr. Marshall and then partner Mrs. Norma Cross. It has since grown to 11 staff members. The company also started with one delivery truck and now operates four vehicles.

According to Mr. Marshall, the focus for the past year has been to get the product into an increasing number of retail outlets.

In the first quarter of 1993, four stores carried Pure Water products and today there are 25 stores on the Island carrying the bottled water product.
