The men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Epsilon Theta Lambda Chapter will be putting on their first Youth Showcase Explosion at 7.30 p.m. at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium.

The Chapter's Director of Educational Activities, David Minors, said: "Our young people need a venue for self expression in the arts.

"This is one way to showcase their talents.'' Participants include the St. Paul AME Church Youth Choir, the CedarBridge Academy Jazz Ensemble, a Karate Exhibition by former world champion Talia Iris, soloists Shane me Smith, Erica Martin and Latosha Codrington, the BOC Stompers and the Sista Steppers.

Tickets are available at $10 by calling 291-3062.

Proceeds from this fund raiser will go toward the Chapter's Educational Fund which will be used to provide university awards to deserving Bermudian students.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity was founded in 1906 and is the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for black university students.

Epsilon Theta Lambda Chapter was chartered in Bermuda in 1950 when it was determined that an Alpha Phi Alpha presence was needed on the Island.

Since then the chapter has strived to maintain all its goals, including the uplifting, promotion and preparation of the Island's youth for the future.
