Bermuda National Gallery PartnerRe Art Lecture Series: Bill Brandt in Focus. Reception 5.30 p.m., lecture 6 p.m. by visiting Goldsmiths College, University of London lecturer and art critic, Ian Jeffrey, who will discuss Brandt's connections with European photography in the 1930s and his photographic techniques. This presentation will reveal much about Brandt's personality, his artistic intentions, and the influence of his art from the 1950s onwards: 'a major artist'. $10 members; $20 non-members.

Get in the Pink Fun Walk under the distinguished patronage of Lady Gozney. Step Up & Out against Breast Cancer. Official start is 6 p.m. at Barrs Bay Park. T-shirt packs are $40. Available at BF&M Insurance Pitts Bay Road, Sportseller Washington Mall and Bermuda Cancer & Health Centre on Point Finger Road. All money raised will go towards the Digital Mammography Equipment.

Bermuda National Gallery Lunchtime lecture: Understanding Bill Brandt: Ian Jeffrey explores the art of this photographer, 12.30 p.m. Admission: members free, others $5.

Breast Cancer Awareness kicks off with a proclamation ceremony at City Hall at 12 noon. All walkers and supporters are welcome to attend. The Funwalk starts at 6 p.m. at Barrs Bay Park. Participation packs ($40) available at the Sportseller and BF&M.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Almost World Famous Third Annual Fish Fry at Christ Church, Warwick from 5 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. $20 per person. Take out or eat in.

Bermuda National Gallery Photography workshops led by Theresa Airey. First workshop: Sharpening your vision and increasing your creativity. Second workshop: Getting your work published 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Introductory-intermediate level. Cost: members $20, others $25.

Breast Cancer Awareness month health seminar. Dr. Kevin Hughes of Massachusetts General Hospital Boston presents 'The Genetic Risk of Breast Cancer' at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute at 7 p.m. There will also be a documentary film by New York cancer survivor Lori Benson called 'Dear Talula'.

October 10

Bermuda International Film Festival Reel World Weekend Colours of Tango: all-Argentinian evening with headliners Tango Y Mas, Fairmont Southampton.
