Liberian freighter limps into port

The engine parts are expected to arrive tomorrow, a spokesman for Meyer Agencies said.

The Sea Sparkle arrived in Dockyard Monday in the late afternoon.

The cable ship Maersk Defender arrived in Bermuda Saturday at 12.30 p.m. It is currently docked at Penno's Wharf in St. George's.

The ship is on station duty and will be in Bermuda for several months until the replacement vessel is completed and arrives in Bermuda.

Meanwhile, the US Coast Guard cutter Campbell left the island yesterday after enjoying a period of rest and relaxation on the Island. The cutter, which was docked in Hamilton, arrived Sunday for their mid-patrol, two-night break.

In the regular shipping business, the Oleander arrived on schedule Sunday at 5.50 p.m. The freighter unloaded 27 refrigerated containers, 116 dry containers, two flatbeds and 40 cars.

Oleander left Bermuda yesterday morning at 8.05.

The Bermuda Islander is expected to arrive on schedule tomorrow at 8 p.m. The freighter will be delivering 104 containers to Bermuda, including 16 refrigerated.

The Gas Sincerity , an LPG tanker is expected at the oil docks on Friday. It will be discharging propane. The unloading normally takes about 20 hours and, depending on the weather, a spokesman said the tanker should depart on Saturday.
