Ming heads up N.Trust
organisation.
Mr. Ming, who runs his own architectural company, Architectural Planning and Research, joined the Trust 12 years ago. He takes over as president from Hugh Davidson, who stood down recently after three years at the helm.
Mr. Ming said he first joined the Trust after realising how central it was in preserving the Island's heritage and green spaces.
"I firmly believe in the mandate of the Bermuda National Trust -- for the preservation of our natural and man-made environment,'' he said.
"Bermuda has a rich cultural history and many buildings of architectural significance, especially in the area where I grew up -- north Hamilton.
"As you travel across the Island you see green spaces, preserved historic buildings restored with care, people working to preserve our environment and marine and resources, and nature reserves and museums established to enrich the lives of the people of Bermuda.
"Much of this is due, directly or indirectly, to the work of the Trust.
"I've served on the historic buildings committee, the archeological research committee, the environmental committee and the executive committee.
"I have seen the tremendous impact the Trust has had in preserving our Island's fascinating historical and natural heritage and in raising awareness of the need to continue to preserve and learn about it.''
