Moonlight movies set for weekend finale
The Moonlight Movie Series 2009 travels into the heart of the city for its grand finale weekend.
With the assistance of sponsors, the company is to transform the parking lot at the former No. 1 Shed into an outdoor cinema.
Tonight, viewers can watch the family adventure film 'Race to Witch Mountain', rated PG. It will be followed by one of the summer's hottest action films, 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', rated PG-13.
Walt Disney's 'Hannah Montana: The Movie', screens Sunday night. The film is PG. It will be followed by a romantic comedy with a PG-13 rating, 'He's Just Not That Into You'.
Said managing director of Startime and producer of the Moonlight Movie Series, Eugene Dean: "Although this year has brought financial challenges as a result of budget cuts and cancellations due to inclement weather, we are pleased to have found the means to provide the community with several outdoor cinema events in various locations, when initially we were without sponsors wondering whether the series would happen at all.
"Now, after screening 13 movies we feel blessed to have found the corporate support to close the series with a two-night event, featuring an additional four films in a prime city venue overlooking Hamilton Harbour."
He said that sponsorship from the ACE Group, the Corporation of Hamilton, CellularOne and the Emperial Group, had made it possible. Events start at 7 p.m. Early features screen at 8.30 p.m. Late features will start at 10.30 p.m. Admission is free.
