Princess wins convention award
conventions by the readers of Meetings and Conventions magazine.
The local hotel was one of 28 international properties selected in addition to 100 winners in the US.
Established in 1978, the Gold Key Award is given annually to the finest hotels, resorts and conference centres nominated and chosen by more than 80,000 corporate, incentive and association planners.
M&C publisher, Mr. Mort Silverman, said: "A 1994 Gold Key Award winner epitomises the high standards our readers demand from a meeting facility. Gold Key winners can be proud of joining a very select group of properties recognised for their emphasis on service.'' Mr. Peter Komposch, Princess general manager said: "We are very honoured to have been voted this award as it reflects the high standards we strive to maintain as well as the strong reputation our hotel has with the business and conventions industry.'' The Princess also this year won a Pinnacle Award from Successful Meetings magazine, and the Award of Excellence from Corporate and Incentive Travel magazine.
And an annual readers' survey in Conde Nast Traveler magazine voted the Princess one of its top 50 Tropical resorts worldwide.
Princess Hotels International regional vice president Mr. Steven Barker said the hotel invests three million dollars annually in capital and major maintenance projects, over and above major renovations.
The company has already announced plans to add voice mail and on-command video, together with mini bars for the rooms, in addition to the replacement of furniture and soft goods.
A personal safe and an iron and ironing board, together with a computer/fax link and a hair dryer will be available to business travellers. The Princess Club or business centre has an experienced staff available to assist with secretarial needs.
