Rising star Lindsay returns to Bermuda for performance
A rising Canadian music star with ties to Bermuda will be performing tonight for the Bermuda Folk Club.
Lindsay Ferguson, known for songs like 'Eighth Wonder', and 'A Thousand Kissing', will perform at the Spanish Point Boat Club, following local band the Harrington Sounds.
"It is an outdoor concert," said Miss Ferguson. "It will be really pretty. There is a moongate and the ocean behind."
Miss Ferguson was born in Bermuda. Her parents, John and Jennifer Ferguson lived here for 12 years.
"My father worked for radio and television," said Miss Ferguson. "He can still be heard here on the radio on Sunday mornings. I have always had an affinity to come back here. The Bermuda Folk Club has made that happen."
This is actually her third time playing in Bermuda. "Eddie DeMello was the first person to bring me here which was cool," she said.
For years, she had to wait tables to supplement her income. But with rising success, she has happily given that up.
"I am going on my third year as a musician," she said. "I did waitressing and bartending on and off since before university days. It helped put me through university."
She has one full-length album out called 'Sound', and she has another 'Vox Naxe', still in production.
She currently lives in Wakefield, Quebec. "It is a really small place, but it is close to all the cities," she said.
Doors open at the Spanish Point boatclub at 7.30 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m.
There will be a cash bar. Tickets are $10 for non-members of the Bermuda Folk Club, and $5 for members.
