facing one of the world's most unusual ecosystems.

Dr. John Farrington, a Bermuda Biological Station trustee and senior scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, will talk on "Religion, Science and the Environment -- a Report from the Black Sea'' after attending a symposium last month.

Dr. Farrington will be reporting on a floating symposium where he joined religious leaders, scientists and politicians to discuss the environmental crisis in the area.

Moral issues associated with the stewardship of the earth's vanishing environmental resources was among the topics discussed during the symposium.

"The symposium was an important step in our awareness that there is strong religious and spiritual at the interface of environmental issues and economic development in many areas of the world,'' he said.

The lecture is at the Biological Station next Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.
