Artists pay tribute to president Obama
In honour of the United States' first African American President, artists have come together for a show depicting how they feel about his presidency.
Sixteen artists have come together to pay tribute to the 44th President of the United States for the 'Obama Exhibition' at the Common Ground Café, at 11 Chancery Lane.
Select Palette Art founder Susan Pearson said that she had a selection of the artists and added: "They range from teenagers through to senior citizens and they were excited to create an Obama image.
"This multimedia show encompasses graphic designs in 3D, airbrush, interactive digital photography, digital illustration, paper Scherenschnitte, textile with embroidery and print, and pen and ink.
"In addition, there's a collection of classical work: line drawing, oil on canvas, photography and watercolour.
"This eclectic and thought-provoking body of work was brought together at rather short notice. Artists were very keen to respectfully express their visions, experiences, hopes and thoughts regarding President Barack Obama."
The exhibiting artists include Peter Barnett, Vernon Clarke, Libby Cook-Toppan, Keisha Douglas, Chris Grimes, Michael Hind, Antoine Hunt, Emma Ingham-Dounouk, Miles Manders, Lynn Morrell, Erik Pearson, Robert Rogers, Gail Santucci-Palacio, Mikado Grant, B.R.Smith and Susan Pearson.
The opening is tonight 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
