"Sculptures must fit in a square 12 feet by 12 feet," Mrs. Gurret said. "They have from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to build that is the criteria."
The Department of Tourism is also bringing in four sand sculptors to enter the professional sand sculpture category and they will each individually build one.
Judging will takes place at 4 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best amateur sculpture in the competition. The best professional sculpture will receive $1,000.
Prizes will also be awarded to first ($1,000), second ($500), and third ($250) place in each category. The event is to be at Horseshoe Bay on Saturday. Entry is free and free refreshments are to be served.
