Putting the 'night' right back into nightclub
Created: Jul 17, 2009 11:00 AM
Bermudian singer and actress Wanda Ray Willis a.k.a. Raynor aims to put the night back into nightclub.
She remembers a time in Bermuda when people, dressed up to the nines, went to a classy establishment with starched white linen tablecloths and danced or just listened to live music.
Mrs. Raynor, who is back in Bermuda for a few gigs, and vocalist Lavette Fuentes, will be performing jazz standards, big band, show tunes, calypso, soca and swing with a live band with Clarence Burrows on bass, Max Maybury on sax and flute, Dennis Fox on piano and Stephen Furbert on drums at the Leopard's Club tonight from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. and next Friday at the same time.
Tickets $20, or $35 with dinner. Drinks $4.
