Big help from little children: Students at Saltus Cavendish Lower Primary School helped to raise more than $5,000 for five-year-old Shawin Fubler's leukaemia treatment.
Children at Saltus Cavendish Lower Primary School have rallied to raise funds for a six-year-old with leukaemia.
Sharwin Fubler is being treated overseas but visited the school at the end of term to thank students for their $1,340 donation towards his medical expenses. A grand total of $5,500 was eventually raised after Saltus Lower Primary student Arin Rance contacted her mother Heather Roque, at Fidelity International Limited, and pupil Molly Kasmer contacted her father at Quanta Capital Holdings.
Fidelity raised $1,200 and Quanta contributed $2,960.
Sharwin is undergoing chemotherapy at the Children's Hospital Boston after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia on Christmas Eve. He faces two years of treatment.
