Back in the picture: Docs’ fest returns with films from around the world

The Bermuda Documentary Film Festival is back with another list of thought-provoking and exciting films from around the world.The films run the gamut of subjects from rape in the military to personalities such as Ethel Kennedy and New York Mayor Ed Koch, to a gang rehabilitation programme in East Los Angeles.The films in this eighth year of the festival are a real treat as several of them have been nominated for Academy Awards or have won prizes at prestigious film festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. The list includes one locally made film by Adrian Kawaley Lathan called ‘Escape’, part of a current exhibition at the Bermuda National Gallery.The Festival runs from March 14 to 17 at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
