After preparing for the past four months, the fate of seven young women vying for the title of Miss Bermuda will be decided this Sunday.Katherine Arnfield, Chelzea Somner, Jahshuntae Darrel, Mikeisha Butterfield, Alexandra McMartin, Echaunti Swan and Denae Simmons will be taking to the stage at Southampton Princess this weekend to find out who will walk away with the coveted crown and chance to represent the Island in Miss World 2013.This year a new title of Miss Hospitality will be introduced to the pageant, for the lady who commits to providing four hours of service each month to participate in school outreach programmes and student networking events.She will be charged with promoting and posting about hospitality-related events and experiences on social media.The title holder will get the chance to represent the hospitality industry at various functions including the Bermuda Day Parade (2014). She will also take home attraction packages for two at Dolphin Quest, Segway Tours and Island Tour Centre.All seven beauty pageant hopefuls strutted their stuff before the cameras at the Miss Photogenic Photo shoot at Newstead Belmont Hills last Sunday.Donning trendy bathing suits and smiles, they were able to have their hair styled by professionals at Impressions and make-up done by O’Faces.A panel of judges, including Anthony Francis, Donovan Seymour, Alex Masters and Anthony Wade, have decided on who rocked the best look in front of the camera.The contestant with the highest score from the photographers will be named Miss Photogenic 2013 on Sunday.Organiser Milika Trott Seymour said she was looking forward to the event and encouraged the public to show their support.She said: “People should come out and support the contestants because its important to encourage young people when they are doing something positive with their time.“The ladies have worked extremely hard over the last four months and it would be great to have a full house Sunday evening cheering them on.”Tickets to the Miss Bermuda pageant, taking place on Sunday night, are available through www.bdatix.bm.
