Latimore concert cancelled
A concert featuring Atlanta-based recording artist Jacob Latimore has been cancelled due to low ticket sales.
The ‘What Are You Waiting For’ event was aiming to provide middle and high school students with a fun activity to do over the Spring Break holiday. In addition to international actor and artist Jacob Latimore, local artists like Kidd Clazzic, Imari, BLAC, Haz and Quinn Outerbridge were also set to take the stage.
The event was supposed to be held at The Berkeley Institute tomorrow at 7pm.
However organisers, JD Lewis Group, released a statement this week saying they were no longer able to proceed with the event due to a slow response from the public.
Jodi Lewis, the CEO of JD Lewis Group, said: “It was our intention to give local students some sort of entertainment during their Spring Break holiday and even after lowering ticket prices we did not see the numbers we needed to proceed with the event.
“We again are sincerely saddened that we were not able to proceed with this event, however we are committed to our local artists and will be working with international agencies to support one of the artists producing a single in Atlanta at a later date.”
Anyone who purchased a ticket should return to the venue they purchased it from to receive a full refund.
Those who bought tickets through Bermydeal.bm should contact Mrs Lewis via e-mail at Jodi@jdlewisgroup.com — and provide their voucher number to receive their money back.
Several free tickets were already distributed, however those who received a free promotional ticket will not be eligible to any refunds.
JD Lewis Group thanked Specialty Cinema, Vibe 103.3, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda and the Developing Artist Program for their continued support throughout this process.
