The man behind the Academy Award-winning Dallas Buyers Club is coming to Bermuda.

Screenwriter Craig Borten will speak at a workshop as part of the Bermuda International Film Festival.

He received an Oscar nomination for the 2013 film’s script.

BIFF will run March 20-26 this year.

The three-day workshop begins on March 20. Each segment runs from 9am until 12pm.

Other presenters include Hook screenwriter James V Hart, award-winning writer Naomi McDougall Jones and Bermudian filmmaker Lucinda Spurling.

The workshop will be held at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. A three-day pass costs $250; a single session is $125. The workshop must be pre-booked and paid in full in advance via www.ptix.bm. Places are subject to availability.

People who attend will be invited to a cocktail party for a chance to speak with the presenters and other film industry guests.
