Electrical storms early yesterday morning may have given the clock's mechanism a jolt that caused it to stop.

Government Information Services revealed that the clock was equipped with a special feature which should automatically click in 12 hours after any stoppage. Works and Engineering will be looking at the clock today to ensure that the special automatic mechanism works.
