Q: I read that Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz were at the same hotel together. Are they back together? — L.F.: <$>No, that ship has sailed, so to speak. Timberlake, who seems to be enjoying being single immensely, and Diaz were at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles at the same time, but it was strictly professional. They were doing interviews for Shrek the Third, in which both appear voly.

Q: What is that talented Virginia Madsen doing next? — A.D.

A:<$> The actress, whose career was resurrected with Sways<$> and has been working non-stop ever since, co-stars next with Oscar winner Forest Whitaker in Ripple Effect, appears in a film about her brotherlled Being Michael Madsen<$>, and is currently filming In the Shadow of Wings in Kenya, the story of a plastic surgeon whose husband and children die in a plane crash. She’s also set to startlming Diminished Capacity <$>with Matthew Broderick and Alan Alda this month.

Q: Sean Penn always gets criticised for his political views, but I think he’s great. What movies will he be in next? — J.R.

A: He’s set to star with Harrison Ford ine film Crossing Over, the story of immigrants trying to attain legal status in the US, and then a complete change of pace, an adventure film called In Search of Captaiero.

Q: I’m sorry that Peter O’Toole didn’t win the Oscar . . . he’s so talented. Will he make any other movies? — D.E.

A:<$> Yes, O’Toole may be disappointed, to put it mildly, that he’s been nominated eight times and has never won, but he’s not retiring. On his upcoming schedule: the fantasy adventure>Stardust<$> with Robert De Niro, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller and Michelle Pfeiffer, the animated comedy Ratatouille, athe drama Love and Virtue <$>with Michael Madsen, John Malkovich and Daryl Hannah. He’s also due to start filming a family drama, The Christmas Cottage, and a French / Italian / UK prodion called La Fenice.

Q: I read that Sanjaya is going to start an acting career. Is that true? — L.R.

A: Given the widespread publicity fohe infamous American Idol <$>contestant, anything is possible. In this case, it might be true. It turns out t since Idol<$> and Dancing With the Stars shoot near each other, Sanjaya had a chance run-in with Billy Ray Cy, who stars in Hannah Montana when he’s not dancing. Cyrus invited Sanjaya to ear on Hannah<$>, and given the promotion that would give both the show and the would-be singer, it’s likely to happen.

Q: Is it true that Tom Hanks is goino do a sequel to The DaVinci Code? — L.D.

A: Prequel, actually . . . and Hanks is seriously in talks about it. The novel in question Dan Brown’s Angels & Demons, which prded The DaVinci <$>phenomenon. Hanks would once again play professor Robert Langdon, and Ron Howard is in talks as well to repeat as director. No word yet on how the negotiations are going.

Q: Ist saw the cover of Vanity Fair with Leonardo DiCaprio and that cute little polar bear. Did they bring the bear to Iceland to pose with Leo? — K.R.

A: No, the wonders of computer imaging being what they are, DiCaprio was shot with the beautiful natural scenery of Iceland behind him, while Knut, the now-world-famous baby polar bear, was shot in Berlin, where he is the city’s zoo’s most popular resident. The two images were then superimposed so that it looks like Knut is looking up at Leo. real, but very cute.

Q: Are the skater Sasha Cohen and the comedian who is Borat related? — L.T.

A: No, but there is always confusion. The skater Sasha has said that any time she calls for a restaurant reservation, people are expecting Borat / Sacha Baron Cohen . . . but given his film’s box-office receipts, that’s not such a bad thing.

Q’m a big fan of The Mummy movies. Is there going to be another one? — N.F.

A: Yes, there is a third instalment on the way; star Brendan Fraser just signed a big contract to repeat his role. The film is due to go into production this summer in China with Jet Li on board as a villain. Co-star and Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, who has several other projects pending, is not expected back, however.
