Music legends Smokey Robinson and Lionel Richie are to top the bill at the October Bermuda Music Festival which is moving to the national stadium.

British singer Natasha Bedingfield is also in the star-studded line-up which is still being added to said Premier Ewart Brown at a press conference yesterday.

The event, on October 3 to October 6, is returning to the national stadium after a decade in Dockyard. Dr. Brown said the switch had been made to allow more people to attend and allow each concert-goer to get their own seat.

The Premier said he hoped to fill 5,000-plus seats, some of which will be set up on the turf.

Comedian and actor Steve Harvey will again host the festival.

Dr. Brown said: “He has become one of the highlights of the event and now we will have him for the next three years.

“I am also proud to announce three marquee names in music who have committed to the 2007 Bermuda Music Festival.

“They are Motown legend Smokey Robinson, former Commodores front man Lionel Richie, and British songstress Natasha Bedingfield.

“Undoubtedly, Lionel Richie is one of the most recognised performers of our generation. He is a Grammy and Academy Award winning artist and we are thrilled that he will be joining us for the 12th Annual Bermuda Music Festival.”

“So once again, top notch talent will be centre stage at the Bermuda Music Festival. And even with those three headliners, we’re not done yet. Our team is working day and night to attract even more talent.”

Tickets priced at $50-100 per day will go on sale on Tuesday at noon from Sound Stage inside the Washington Mall. Festival passes start at $230 and go up to $330.
