Two crash drivers arrested on suspicion of drink driving
Eleven people were arrested for drink driving over the Christmas holiday.And driving under the influence was suspected to be the cause of two accidents that took place on the Boxing Day holiday.A Paget woman was treated for minor injuries after her car crashed into a wall on Tuesday morning.The 31-year-old lost control of the vehicle around 3.50am on Montpelier Road, in Devonshire, near the junction with Happy Valley Road.The woman was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and then arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Her car was badly damaged.Later that day, a car driven by a 31-year-old Smith’s man struck a tree after it went off Middle Road near the junction with Store Hill around 11.30pm.The driver was not hurt. He was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.Police warned yesterday that they will be especially vigilant in their checks for drinking and driving offenders over the New Year’s weekend.
