A woman was yesterday presented with a golden voucher by anti-drink drive group CADA, as the 5,000th person to use the ‘Let Us Drive’ service.The free taxi service operates between 3.15am and 3.45am on Fridays, from the LOM Building at the corner of Reid and Burnaby Streets in Hamilton.Chairman Anthony Santucci said the woman became number 5,000 at 3.30am.Mr Santucci said: “We applaud her and others who put a plan in place to get home safely if they go out planning to drink.“We recognise the importance of this life saving service, and thank all the taxi drivers who make sure passengers get home safely.”‘Let Us Drive’ has been running since May, 2007.
