Sloop film airs at college
A film about Bermudian students exploring an unidentified shipwreck debuts tomorrow.The students took part in the exercise while aboard the Spirit of Bermuda during the last academic year.A spokesman said: “’Reefs, Wrecks and Renegades’ captures an exciting interdisciplinary education initiative that involved the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, National Museum of Bermuda, Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, the Custodian of Wrecks from Department of Conservation Services and 500 local Middle 3 school students.“The film follows a group of students on their voyage as they apply to the Historic Wrecks Authority for a license to explore an unidentified wreck, seek environmental advice, survey and dredge the wreck, learn about artifact conservation and attempt to figure out the ship’s mystery identity.”The film was produced by LookBermuda Educational Media Foundation. It will debut at 5pm tomorrow at the North Lecture Theatre at the Bermuda College.
