Water supplies reduced next week

Work at the Tynes Bay Seawater Desalinisation plant will cause a reduction in water availability in three parishes next week.Between Monday and Friday, water service levels will be reduced in Pembroke, Devonshire and Hamilton parishes.A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said: “The works being undertaken are part of the Tynes Bay Seawater Desalinisation Phase Two expansion project and will provide greater reliability in the operations of the existing facility.“The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience this work may cause and would like to thank customers and the public for their cooperation during this period.”Once complete, the expansion will double the amount of water produced from 500,000 US gallons to one million gallons per day.
