$500 slap

A man who slapped a DJ at the Beach bar was fined $500 last week and received some harsh words from a Magistrate.

Ricky Stephen Outerbridge, 43, of Mission Lane, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to slapping Paul Sofianos last November.

Crown counsel Graveney Bannister told the court that Outerbridge had asked the victim to play 50 Cent and when the DJ refused Outerbridge slapped him across the face and used a racial slur.

When asked by Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves if he had anything to say for himself, Outerbridge said: ?He had made a remark that was offensive to me.?

Mr. Greaves said: ?So if you made a remark to somebody that was offensive then somebody should ?cuff your face???

Outerbridge said: ?I was minding my own business.?

Mr. Greaves said: ?People like you scare me.? He then fined him $500 and ordered it to be paid immediately or he would face 50 days in prison.

?I don?t know who appointed you judges of men.? he said.
