Alleged Loyal Hill burglar in court

Alleged burglar Winslow "Scaley" Williams who was set upon last week in the Loyal Hill area, is escorted by Police after appearing in Magistrates' Court this morning.

Alleged burglar Winslow (Scaley) Williams appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning to hear two charges of attempted burglary read against him.

Williams, 43, was charged with attempting to enter a Loyal Hill home and a North Ridge Crescent home on November 4.

Shortly after 10 a.m. that day, Police found him unconscious on Foothills Road after he was attacked by residents.

Appearing in court with injuries still visible on his face, Williams remained quiet during the proceedings, only speaking to say he was being held in custody.

Because the charges against Williams must be heard by the Supreme Court, he was not asked to enter a plea.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner ordered Williams to be remanded in custody until the matter is mentioned on November 23. Williams is expected to appear in Drug Court tomorrow.
