Sandys man denies breaking into homesA Sandys man denied stealing cash and jewellery from a pastor's home in Magistrates' Court yesterday.Tyrone Howard Darrell, 40, was charged with breaking into the home of Rev. Goodwin Smith in Southampton and stealing $2,700 in cash and $800 worth of jewellery. Darrell also denied stealing $4,280 worth of jewellery from a Sandys home on January 18. Darrell was granted $1,000 bail with two sureties and will return to court on March 31.

A Sandys man denied stealing cash and jewellery from a pastor's home in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Tyrone Howard Darrell, 40, was charged with breaking into the home of Rev. Goodwin Smith in Southampton and stealing $2,700 in cash and $800 worth of jewellery. Darrell also denied stealing $4,280 worth of jewellery from a Sandys home on January 18. Darrell was granted $1,000 bail with two sureties and will return to court on March 31.

Teen girls hurt in Knapton Hill crash

Two teenage girls were seriously injured when their car bounced off two walls on Knapton Hill early yesterday.

Police said the 18-year-old driver and 17-year-old passenger, both from Smith's, were taken to hospital and were in stable condition and on a general ward last night.

‘Verbal exchange' sparks punch-up

A 65-year-old Hamilton Parish man is in hospital after being assaulted on Pitts Bay Road on Thursday. Police said the man suffered broken bones in his face and his right eye was swollen shut. A nursing supervisor at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital said the victim was in stable condition on a general ward. The victim told Police he was involved in a fight with a 56-year-old Sandys man at around 5 p.m. following a “heated verbal exchange”.

Pre-school forms due on Monday

Parents are being asked to bring registration forms for their pre-school children to Ministry of Education headquarters on Dundonald Street on Monday.

They were originally told to submit applications to pre-schools, which will be closed since teachers are at a seminar.
