Robbers have targeted another pizza delivery man ? this time in the East End.The victim, a 34-year-old Pembroke man who works for The Upper Crust Restaurant ? part of the Four Star Pizza chain, was riding along Slip Point Lane, St. George's on Monday evening to make a delivery when he was stopped by a man, who appeared to be the recipient.

Pizza delivery man robbed

Robbers have targeted another pizza delivery man ? this time in the East End.

The victim, a 34-year-old Pembroke man who works for The Upper Crust Restaurant ? part of the Four Star Pizza chain, was riding along Slip Point Lane, St. George's on Monday evening to make a delivery when he was stopped by a man, who appeared to be the recipient.

However the suspect demanded money from the delivery man who handed over $125. The suspect then ran. He is described as dark-skinned, five foot, nine inches tall, clean shaven, wearing a grey hooded jacket with the hood over his head and dark pants. He is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s.

In January a Four Star Pizza delivery man was robbed after being lured to a Pembroke address.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information on the latest incident to contact the St. George's criminal investigation unit on 297-1122.

Man kicked off bike

Moped-riding thugs kicked a man off his Scoopy before riding off with it on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old St. George's man was riding his bike shortly after 10 p.m. on North Shore Road, in Hamilton Parish, when he noticed three men riding behind him.

As he approached Blue Hole Hill, one of the suspects kicked the bike, causing him to fall off.

Fearing for his safety, the victim ran to a nearby property, leaving the Honda Scoopy behind. When he returned to retrieve the auxiliary cycle a short time later it was gone.

The victim was uninjured. The suspects are described as: a brown-skinned male, approximately five foot, nine inches tall of average build, believed to be in his 20s, a brown skinned male, approximately five foot, eight inches tall, of average build also believed to be in his 20s; and a light skinned male wearing a red, long-sleeve shirt. The missing bike is a charcoal-coloured Honda Scoopy licence plate number 614 AD.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George's Criminal Investigation Unit on 297 1122.

Flight diverted

A British Airways Boeing 747 jumbo jet was forced to divert to Bermuda on Tuesday night when a 65-year-old female passenger collapsed and lost consciousness.

The plane, with 328 persons on board, was en route from Miami to London, but landed in Bermuda shortly before 10 p.m. and the stricken passenger was rushed by ambulance to KEMH, accompanied by her husband.

The aircraft refuelled and departed for London at 11.20 p.m.

PTB plans building

The Public Transportation Board has applied to erect a steel prefabricated maintenance building at the Palmetto Road bus garage.

PTB sought final Planning permission for a new prefab building, which will be used for maintenance, storage, office and training at No. 26 Palmetto Road, Devonshire, on February 15.

Government Civil Engineer Kelly Harris said in the application that the 20-foot high building with space for three buses would be used to fix bus air conditioners and for storage of bus parts, office space, a training room and a wash room.

Drivers banned

Three men appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday for driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.

All the men pleaded guilty and were fined $1,000 and stripped of all driving privileges for 12 months.

Harold Davis, 58, of South Road, Paget asked for leniency saying he has to drive his 90-year-old mother everywhere but was told that every person convicted of drinking and driving must be suspended from driving for 12 months.

Jose Tavares admitted to drinking and driving on December 24. Tavares, 50, of Gatehead Lane, Smith's apologised for his actions. Shuja Muhammad, 30, of Green Acres Estate Road also pleaded guilty.
