Breaking News: Colin slows but still heading to Bermuda

Tropical Storm Colin ground to halt this morning according to forecasters, but is still expected to come within about 48 miles of Bermuda bringing up to three inches of rain.

The storm, now packing winds of up to 40 mph, is expected to pick up pace and come to its closest point to the Island at about 7am tomorrow, with wind speeds picking up during today.

In a forecast this morning, the National Hurricane Centre said: "Colin has been almost stationary during the past few hours, however it should begin to move toward the north and northeast with an increase in forward speed later today.

"Because Colin has been stationary its anticipated arrival to Bermuda has been delayed until early Sunday."

The Centre said tropical storm winds extend outwards up to 125 miles and that Bermuda would experience "large and battering waves".
