Breaking News: Falling satellite to cause TV disruption

TV viewers could see programmes disrupted for up to two weeks — because a satellite is falling out of orbit.

Yesterday Bermuda CableVision said its services could be disrupted from tomorrow to Sunday, but this afternoon general manager Terry Roberson, said that could now last for two weeks.

He said: Bermuda CableVision would like to update its subscribers that the anticipated interruptions to their cable service from May 21 to May 23 announced yesterday will now be extended to the next two weeks.

We have been advised that a major cable network satellite feeding our Island is falling out of orbit, which may cause temporary interruptions as the network switches its feeds to a more reliable satellite.

Channels may be affected at different times with outages for up to an hour while the transition takes place. We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by this transition, which is outside of our control."
