Education Minister El James was this afternoon tight-lipped over who will replace sacked CedarBridge board chairman George Scott.

Speaking at a press conference, the Minister said firing both Mr. Scott and deputy chairman Lovitta Foggo was necessary.

“When this issue came up, I also became aware of the fact that Mr. Scott was beyond his term and I also mentioned I wasn’t happy with the progress being made so some changes had to be made”, he said. “The changes were the deputy and the chairman.”

Mr. Scott and Government Whip Ms Foggo were terminated Friday evening.

Following their termination, the remaining executive board members resigned and sent immediate notice to Government.

Mr. James wouldn’t elaborate on why Ms Foggo was fired.
