Breaking News: Police name road accident victim

Police today named the victim of a road accident this morning as 22-year-old Adam Goodwin.A spokesman said that at 4.10am today, Police and first responders attended an accident on South Road, in Smith’s, near the junction with St. Mark’s Road.“It appears that Mr. Goodwin was riding a motorcycle traveling along South Road when he lost control and collided with a wall. Mr. Goodwin sustained serious injuries and was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he subsequently succumbed to those injuries. He was pronounced dead at 4.32am by an on call physician at the hospital.

“The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Goodwin.

“Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision or anyone with any information to contact PC Darren Harvey on 295-0011.”

The death of Mr. Goodwin, of Smith’s, marks the ninth road fatality this year.
