An elderly dementia sufferer from Lefroy House was found wet but uninjured in the water at Lagoon Park ? hours after he wandered away from the nursing home on Monday night.

The man is currently in hospital while discussions continue about placing him in a more secure facility.

The Ministry of Health and Family Services said the resident had escaped because the alarm system had been disabled by lightening. It is now being repaired.
