Police are investigating claims that a lawyer obtained Bermuda status through fraudulent documents, The Royal Gazette can reveal.

It is understood the investigation into the Canadian lawyer, who is married to a Bermudian woman, has been ongoing for months.

Several well-placed sources have confirmed to The Royal Gazette that the investigation into the lawyer is ongoing.

A Bermuda Police spokesman yesterday refused to comment on the case.
