Man injured in bus accident
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 24: A 67-year-old pedestrian was this morning injured after being hit by a bus near the junction of Victoria Street and Cedar Avenue, at the approach to the Hamilton bus terminal.
Two men standing nearby at the time of the accident, which happened at about 8.40am, reported hearing a loud impact.
One said: “I was standing here talking, I heard two bangs, I looked around and saw he was under the bus, and it looked like the bus rolled over his legs. He must have either been trying to get across or he slipped. I saw the bus driver lady was in a very bad way, holding herself.”
A Police spokesman said: "Around 8.40am, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Victoria Street, in Pembroke, in the vicinity of the Washington Street Bus Terminal involving a bus and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a St. George's man, was injured; however his injuries are not serious. No one on the bus was injured."
