Regiment looking for eight conscripts

The Bermuda Regiment is still hunting eight conscripts who failed to turn up for Sunday's boot camp.

Adjutant Capt. William White said originally 22 people had failed to turn up for the two weeks of square bashing and drill but 14 of those were either now under its wing or had a good excuse for not being there.

He said latecomers would have any punishment deferred until the end of the boot camp so their performance over the week could be taken into account.

He said: "Late people will be quickly brought into the process so they can catch up with one on one training."
