Mr. Balia's empty inflatable boat was found with its engine still running in the early hours of Saturday morning, shortly after it was believed he had set off for his yacht Sundancer, moored at Hinson's Island.

Yesterday Police divers again searched the Harbour but no clues were found.

His grey inflatable boat was found circling empty with the engine still running between 2 a.m and 2.30 a.m. after it bumped into local charter boat Andrea Christine at the Hamilton Princess dock.

Mr. Balia, 35, was last seen by colleagues at Portofino restaurant sometime between midnight and 1 a.m.

Originally from Sardinia, in Italy, Mr. Balia, who had been in Bermuda for ten years, was known as a fit teetotaller who ran marathons.

Witnesses are asked to call Sgt. Senior or Inspector Bothelo of the Marine Police on 295 0011.
