Trucker in hospital after crash
A motorist was rushed to hospital last nigh with suspected head injuries after his truck hit a wall and overturned on Langton Hill, near the junction with Mount Hill Road, Pembroke.
The 46-year-old man had to be cut free from his white Mitsubishi Canter by firefighters and stretchered to a waiting ambulance more than an half hour after the accident occurred at 10 p.m. Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said the accident happened just yards from the man?s home. Mr. Caines said: ?It appears that the driver was coming down Langton Hill with his truck fully subscribed with a load of what appears to be rubble.
?It appears that he hit a side wall resulting in the vehicle overturning. The Bermuda Fire Service responded and extricated the man out of the truck and he has just been taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.?
The extent of th man?s injuries were unclear last night but they were not believed to be life threatening. Langton Road was still closed to motor vehicles as went to press last night.
