A political interest that started early
avida Morris has taken an interest in politics from a young age. From her days on the student council at Berkeley Institute, she says she has always kept a keen eye on the direction her country is heading.
She joined Progressive Minds, the youth wing of the Progressive Labour Party, last year, and is currently chairman of the group.
Her educational background begins at Paget Primary School, while she also attended Berkeley Institute. She then undertook a three-year stint at Bermuda College, followed by another three years at St. Mary?s University in Halifax, where she studied psychology and sociology.
Miss Morris is currently out of work after her appointment at the Senate forced her to give up her job as an addictions counsellor for the Government. She says she is enjoying the ?unexpected break? but is looking to get back into a similar field before long.
She lives with her parents, Ilethea, a child care worker, and David, an infantry controller, in Paget.
She has one sister, 28-year-old Ilethea.
Her hobbies include a Brazilian martial art called capoeira camara, which transcribed literally means Friendship Camaraderie and involves a series of self defence moves. She is also a member of Hamilton Parish Hot Pepper Majorettes.
