Allowing examiners to take a digital photo of the applicant as additional safeguards against fraud.

Test stations equipped with a telephone handset, so that applicants who need to have the test instructions, questions and possible answers read to them can hear the audio and follow along.

Tests offered in English or Portuguese.

Test questions presented on a computer screen with animated colour pictures or video of road signs and typical driving situations, giving applicants a better understanding of the questions.

A feature allowing applicants to review incorrect answers at the end of the test, helping those who fail the test to be better prepared next time.

Those who wish can still take the paper and pencil exam. However, the test is still produced using the same random selection process that ensures a unique test for each applicant.
